The Raoul Wallenberg Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI) announces postdoctoral fellowships for researchers working on human rights issues in Turkey.
RWI offers postdoctoral fellowships to Turkish researchers wishing to pursue research projects at universities or research institutes in Turkey or abroad. Research topics should have strong links to human rights and humanitarian law issues. A maximum of 4 candidates will receive a postdoctoral fellowship.
The scholarships will be offered for a period of nine to twelve months, from December 1, 2018 to December 30, 2019. The deadline for submitting applications is October 15, 2018.
Advantages of this Program:
The scholarships will cover living expenses of up to EUR 1,750 per month for Fellows from host institutions outside Turkey (the amount will be based on living expenses in the host country).
Fellows traveling abroad will receive a single travel allowance of up to EUR 500, including the return ticket, visa application and travel insurance fees / expenses. University fellows in Turkey will receive up to TL 5,000 per month.
Fellows moving to another city for the fellowship will receive a single travel allowance.
The scholarships will be offered for a period of nine to twelve months.
The postdoctoral fellowship is open to Turkish citizens who have obtained their doctorate from a university in Turkey within the last three years of the application deadline.
All applications related to human rights and humanitarian law are welcome. Applicants whose research projects are related to the rights of older persons, children, women, refugees, persons with disabilities and the relationship between human rights and information and communication strategies (ICTs) and cities of human rights will be privileged. Researchers from all disciplines are encouraged to apply; Applicants who take an interdisciplinary approach to their work will be favored.

Letter of motivation (the letter should include the field of work, the motivation for the selection of the host institution, the expected contribution of the research visit to the candidate’s academic work, etc.) in English
Curriculum vitae (description of qualifications, list of publications, mastery of the foreign language, relevant skills, etc.) in English
A written sample (article published or not, chapter of book, etc.), preferably in English
RWI can arrange interviews with candidates if necessary. Only full applications will be considered. A candidate may not receive more than one award as part of this call.
